Properties and Characteristics of Phenyl Methyl Silicone Oil

What is Phenyl Methyl Silicone Oil?

Phenyl Methyl Silicone Oil is a composite silicone oil in which phenyl groups are introduced into the molecular chain of dimethylsiloxane. Compared to methyl silicone oil, it features better high-temperature resistance, radiation resistance, lubricating performance, and solubility, with an operating temperature range of -50℃ to 250℃.

Core Properties and Characteristics of Phenyl Methyl Silicone Oil

Viscosity-Temperature Characteristics and Pour Point

Compared to methyl silicone oil of the same viscosity, phenyl methyl silicone oil has a higher viscosity-temperature coefficient and a lower pour point. This means its viscosity changes more steadily with temperature variations, and it retains fluidity at lower temperatures.

Oxidation and Radiation Resistance

Phenyl methyl silicone oil exhibits excellent oxidation stability and radiation resistance. With increasing phenyl content, its thermal stability significantly improves. Even when heated at 250℃ for thousands of hours in the absence of air, its physical properties remain essentially unchanged. Additionally, it has good radiation resistance, capable of withstanding up to 2×10^8 R of radiation dose at room temperature without failure.

Lubricating Performance

The lubricating performance of phenyl methyl silicone oil surpasses that of methyl silicone oil, making it an effective lubricant under high-temperature conditions. Especially at 200℃, it can continue to operate, demonstrating excellent high-temperature lubrication characteristics.

Organic Compatibility

Compared to methyl silicone oil, phenyl methyl silicone oil has better organic compatibility and can be mixed with vegetable oils, animal oils, and mineral oils, thereby expanding its application range.

Why Choose Betely's Phenyl Methyl Silicone Oil?

Betely's phenyl methyl silicone oil is a phenyl-containing polysiloxane, with phenyl groups introduced into the molecular chain of dimethyl polysiloxane. Therefore, phenyl methyl silicone oil offers better high-temperature resistance and radiation resistance than dimethyl polysiloxane, and better lubricating and solubility properties than dimethyl polysiloxane. The boiling point of phenyl methyl silicone oil ranges between 200℃ and 230℃.

Betely offers a wide range of phenyl silicone oils. Our products match the quality of leading brands but come at a better price. Enjoy high-quality products at a lower cost — you deserve it!
